The crushable aspect is great for worry-free transportation / stowage or when wearing the hat is uncomfortable (ie social or temperature reasons). It pops right back in shape.
There's good reasons for similar hats to have been popular for decades. Definately for anyone wanting more than ballcaps can provide.
I did experience one problem with my order though: I ordered one black and one khaki, but I received one black and one olive. The tag on the olive hat said khaki so it was a tag problem and not so much the delivery department itself. This may be something to keep in mind and to mention to the company prior to your order.

This is a nice hat. Good construction and the color looks good. But...it's not all that "low profile". It was to tall for me. it sunk down to my ears and still looked a little to tall and goofy. If you have a "normal" sized head this hat will probably work fine. if on the other hand you have a small head and have a hard time finding hats that fit, then keep looking.The hat came on time with no crazy delays. Fits nicely. I bought it because it had the vintage look and i'm happy with that decision.

This hat fits welleven on my large head. Falls about an inch above my ears, brim is a nice length. Appears to be well put together. Light weight, nice color. I decided to wax this hat, it took the wax (beeswax) well, and now has a nice, heavy feel that lets you know you're wearing a hat.

I realize that hats and clothing have a "breaking in" period, but it's kind of ridiculous with this hat. I can really only wear it backwards. It has some kind of bump or hidden tag in the front, under that brim that just DIGS into my forehead. It leave a giant red welt and is 100% unwearable this way. Wearing it backwards, it's fine. This hat fits my peanut head perfect. I got the s/m. Fitted hats are usually 7 1/8. Puerto Rico has a subdued plaid look to it. Second time with this hat and its as good as the first. I bought this hat as an exact replacement for one I've had for six years. With the mesh for ventilation and wide brim for the sun and rain the old hat was great. It is now made in a different country and definitely not as well made. I also had to add a liner to the inside to get it to fit even though it is supposed to be the same size as the old hat. The leather drawstring is stiff and the sliding tab is thin and wimpy. Still, not a bad hat for the money. Just not as good as they once were. I'll probably look around for a different one when it comes time to replace it.

I purchased this excellent hat on-line just three days before my 11 day Sierra Backpacking hike. The hat worked out great and providing excellent shade and protection. I did give it a good ScotchGard treatment before the hike, so no sweat or water stains or other similar problems. The hat retained its shape wonderfully and provided excellent ventilation on even the warmest days travelling the 60 miles from South Lake to North Lake (over 3 Passes Bishop, Muir and Piute all nearly at 12,000 ft elevation). The hat fits much better than most, the brim is quite thick so it doesn't flutter in the wind or when boating. Only complaints are that the mesh is larger than my old hat, easier to see through and the sun shines through more, requiring sun screen on my forehead and bald areas. Also the khaki color is more olive drab green. It looks good but I expected a lighter tan color. The leather chin strap had a leather piece to adjust and hold the hat down. It wore out immediately and I replaced it with a wooden bead. I bought this hat for work. I work outside inspecting construction site foundations and needed a hat to keep the sun off me in the summer. It has a professional appearance, the wide brim keeps the sun off your face and neck, and the mesh allows your head to keep cool. Cheap Men's Fashion Sea Grass Fedora Hat - Brown W21S53F
I ordered this after shopping quite a bit. I have a straw hat that I really like, Indiana Jones type, which I bought in Mexico. However the brim is so wide that I can hardly wear it in the car, bumps into the head rest. So, I wanted one with a more narrow brim. This one is really narrow. For years I hardly ever wore a hat, but had skin cancer on one ear, then pre-cancer on my head. So I have learned to wear a hat when outside. Now I am used to it. This one seems to be well built, good quality. I ordered the L-KL. It was barely big enough, but just big enough. My Mexican hat is very roomy. My podiatrist commented on it yesterday, saying that he liked it. Anyway, I am pretty happy with it.

I have a 3XL (25 in.) head and the hat fits, but it was a little tight at first due to its ambitious niche of fitting an XL through a 3XL head. In my opinion, the manufacturer should stick to more narrow size ranges in their stretchable hats to assure the most comfortable fit. Though, it seems to be fitting easier as I stretch out the elastic a bit. However, people like me with large heads have been living with tight fitting and non-fitting hats for our entire lives, and the last thing that we want is another tight fit when we order a hat that is supposedly made for large heads. We want to be comfortable with no retriction whatsoever.
It worked well enough that I'll make this a permanent fix by running a stitch through it to keep it in place. Looks much better this way and fits just about perfectly.

This is a hat that is made for up to a 3XL head. Therefore, yes, the brim might look large on you if your head is toward the smaller end of this hats stretchable size range, as a previous reviewer complained. A problem exists in that most brims look small on those with large heads, and this hat is made to be a solution. Several other reviewers mentioned the size of this "one size fits all" cap. They're entirely correct. I have a head size that would normally be classified as XL (motorcycle helmets, etc). This cap fits loose as a bucket on my head, and the back side of it is just ginormous. Since it's not worth the effort to return it, I've tried temporarily to get it to fit by rolling under some of the back of the hat under along with the headband (kind of like how my wife rolls her shirtsleeves' hem under a time or two). It shortens the "back top" of the hat by about 1.5" or so, fitting my head more adequately.It worked well enough that I'll make this a permanent fix by running a stitch through it to keep it in place. Looks much better this way and fits just about perfectly.
Columbia M Coolhead Ball Cap Review
This hat lives up to Columbia's description. Very lightweight and cool for summer wear. The other thing I like is the small, discreet logo. Columbia and other apparel manufacturers should hew this example more frequently. People don't want to be walking billboards. With this hat, you aren't.
I chose a matching green color for all three of us (see pictures), so my wife could pick us out of the crowd.
About a month before our vacation, I purchased a Columbia Sportswear M Coolhead Ball Cap and a Seirus Innovations Quick Shade Mesh Baseball Style Hat with UV Protection for Head, Face, and Neck. I tested them both out on shorter hikes near our home and preferred Columbia Sportwear's hat, which markets its Omni-Freeze ICE advanced cooling and Omni-Wick moisture management. The hat certainly has a silkier feel than the other brand and didn't seem to absorb sweat like other materials do.
Even though the hat has UPF 50 sun protection we applied sunscreen, so I can't separate the efficacy of the two products. We came away without sunburn though and the hat certainly played a role. We wore the hats for the remainder of our San Francisco trip, on cable cars, in museums, and wandering the courtyards and wharfs.
The one-size-fits-all style was accurate. My sons (ages 9 and 8) were as comfortable as their 40ish father.

This cap was a gift for my sister and she really likes it. The brand logo is not overly large. The fabric makes the cap cool and comfortable. She uses it while sunning on the beach and for top-down convertible rides. Cheap Mens Crushable Wool Felt Porkpie Hat w/Feather HE09 Gray
I really like this porkpie and I'm really picky when it comes to my hats. The quality of the hat is excellent and well worth the price which says a lot. I would recommend this hat to other porkpie lovers that aren't looking for a "too stiff" but comfortable hat. As far as the other comment of the missing feather, the feather came with the hat in it's own little bag in the packaging. You can add the feather to the hat or leave it off. I left mine off because truthfully, I'd probably lose it anyway.

In general all size charts should have three rows. Inches (centimeters), classic hat size (such a 7 7/8) and modern size (small, medium etc..). These hats are roomy but mostly true to size.
Be aware that this hat is a modified Trilby. By that I mean it's brim is very short. I think that makes it more casual and trendy than most hats of it's style.
it is a beautiful hat! well made, soft yet durable wool, a lovely rich warm brown color. I wore this hat casually with jeans and also to church whereby my attire is more formal .
Let me say, too, that this hat is Structurally well worth the price. it would stand up against the elements easily
i own many types of hats...this has become my favorite! i hope i can find a different style with the same quality as this one.
