As someone with fair skin I appreciate the protection this hat provides even if it does look a little silly with the extra long brim and added bulk when the neck protection is tucked into the top. Works well with the sleeve loose on the neck or pulled over the face for full protection. Glad I found this brand.

Currently listed for half the price of the Columbia Sportswear Coolhead Ball Cap, I purchased one of each earlier this summer in preparation for a family vacation to San Francisco. Ultimately, I chose to go with the Columbia Sportswear M Coolhead Ball Cap at $20.04 instead of the Seirus Innovations Quick Shade Mesh Baseball Style Hat with UV Protection for Head, Face, and Neck at $7.29.

Both hats offer UPF 50 sun protection. The similarities end there. The Seirus model offers a longer brim and a shade for neck and/or face protection. However, its lightweight nylon construction feels cheaper than the Columbia Sportswear model, which markets an Omni-Freeze ICE advanced cooling and Omni-Wick moisture management from a fabric blend of 90% polyester and 10% elastane. The nylon fabric on the Seirus model was thin and left loose. It could have used both a second layer and more stitching.

I'm more interested in practical features than pretty ones but, again, Columbia Sportswear easily wins the styling category with its solid colors and subtle logo. I purchased Seirus Innovations' tan/camo style. My wife commented that I looked like an Alabama reality show celebrity with the full camo mullet running down the back of my neck.

In summary, while the Seirus Innovations Baseball Style Hat looked like a steal at $7.29, you get what you pay for and, in this case, the difference in quality was too much to ignore. I purchased two more hats from Columbia Sportswear for my sons to take on our family vacation.

Had to cut out the face protector. It was way too tight and as a female, I don't have a large face. The best quality of the hat is the long bill. Other than that, spend your money on something else.
