First, let me start by saying I'm a Hat guy. I collect hats from all over the world and have had a number of Custom fedoras and western hats made. I am very picky about my hats. This is a spectacular hat that won't disappoint. The hat is a bit pricey (for a weave hat) but I think it is worth every penny. I am always a bit reluctant when I purchase a hat over the internet. I have been disappointed on numerous occasions when prior hats arrived. This one is the real deal. Classic fedora look. Perfect color. Looks like the hat pictured. Weave is tight and crisp. Brim is just the right size (not too long or short). Can be worn as a dress hat or casual and look the part for either. Perfect for sun protection and has a very smart look. Crown is proper height with classic creasing. Fit was just right, according to my size and use of the size chart. Box is excellent to store the hat in when not wearing. I am DELIGHTED with this hat! I do not work for the company or have any vested interest but wanted to comment on my satisfaction.

BAILEYS OF HOLLYWOOD LITESTRAW STRAW HAT (I own the 'SANDERS' model which Amazon does not have) is a modern miracle of a straw hat. I was going out of my mind looking for a durable, stylish fedora or Panama straw for the summers. Then I encountered Baileys.

The Sanders model is like most of Baileys hats--based on a simple Panama with a Homburg-style crown, a soft grosgrain brown hatband, and a generous 2 3/4" brim--leapt at me from the internet. I can't even recall where I bought it. The fit is heavenly and the comfort level is incomparable. I do not know for certain what "Litestraw" is other than very expensive--but it is a durable work of genius.

Who'd have thought?--synthetic straw for straw hats. Therein lies the only rub: it is far too hot for the vicious northern Illinois summers which are comparable to Vietnam, India and any other tropical jungle climate. On such days, if one is stupid enough to be convinced one actually has to go out, only an open-weave palm straw hat will do.

For the rest of the time, Baileys of Hollywood is the answer to all your hat needs. Though they are gone now, I used to have a Baileys porkpie hat and I still own my wool Homburg. This is awesome anytime for all summer hat purposes ... and to keep you looking like Joe Cool instead of The Fool.
