It takes time for the hat to warm up, the kids complained that it didn't work right away but after an hour outside they realized their ears weren't cold. So, it does work in a subtle way.
Tip: be sure to remove the Hot Hands before washing, haha, I learned the hard way.keeps my head nice and warm without the use of the heating element, but will keep it handy just in case I will be needing it later.
