I own several styles of Kangol's and wish there were more reviews on them. It's tough to know how they're going to fit ahead of time since you usually can't go to the mall and try all the styles on. I own the Kangol Bamboo Mau in size Large in brown and grey (the grey is a very light grey). I'm normally a 7 3/8 in New Era 5950 baseball caps if that helps on the sizing.

The Kangol Bamboo Mau is a cool-looking hat when you just look at the hat itself. I've found that the actual hat looks better than a lot of the pictures you can find online for it. It's pretty lightweight and you can fold it down pretty well if you were going to pack it on a trip.

The hat reminds me of a style that my grandpa might have worn a long long time ago. The brim is extremely short and would not be very good for keeping out the sun. There is a sort of puffed-out perch on the front crown of the hat. So you need to wear it a little higher on your head than normal to keep that crown nice and puffed out.

And that's the one piece that I don't really love about this hat. Wearing it higher-up on your head is just not natural for me. I usually like to pull them down so they feel like they're on securely. If you pull this one down, it loses its shape and looks funny.

Because there's not that much headroom on this hat, it just feels slightly-off. Additionally, the overall general size of the hat is on the small side, so I think it looks a little funny on my big head.

All in all though, the Bamboo Mau is a very cool hat. Not many people have a hat in this style. I really want to love this hat, but because the fit and smaller size are slightly-off, I don't find myself wearing it a lot.

Never owned a Kangol and it is all good with this cap. The one thing it does better than my "old faithful" is that it breaths very well. I'm a baldy and I can feel the air/wind coming through the hat. Just has my style that people would expect of me to wear.

Well I should have followed my shopper's instinct. I'm disappointed with my purchase of the Kangol Mau. I believe I only paid for the brand name and not the product's qualities. The material is superb, no doubt about that. But the design does not justify the price I paid for it. It has to sit high on the head for it to look good on someone. I thought It would be roomier, but no, It feels like a regular bandana on the head just to slightly give shelter to one's cranium. I'm just too busy for a return process.
