Nice hat.. has a cinch at rear of hat where it can be tightend for better fit.

i bought XL size and it was perfect for my big head.

only con is the color.. fatigue color that i bought apppears brown/khaki on the website, but it's actually close to green.

other than the color issue, it's a great hat!

I've had a number of Outdoor Research products in the past and have found them to be well designed, well made, functional, and very durable. I live in the tropics and need serious sun protection when trekking, sailing, diving, and generally shlepping around in the outdoors. I've tried an number of different "boonie" and sun hats but this is exactly what I was looking for. Very light weight, wide comfortable band, wide enough brim for good sun/rain protection but not so big as to inhibit vision or become a bloody sail in a stiff breeze, infinitely adjustable and secure adjustment, well designed neck cord, excellent protection from the elements yet super lightweight, breathable, and quick drying. Oh, and it's not bad looking either ... or as stylish as this kind of hat can be. Great product from the folks at OR, I highly recommend it.

Worked like a champ in Sedona, AZ July 5-15! Never left the condo without it. We got a lot of rain and wind one day and the chin strap held well through most of the gusts without having to secure it with my hand. This hat sops up water to help stay cool and dries out again quick (not necessarily good in the desert). Mine was a bit large for my head but I usually wear medium so should have expected with that said it was easy to adjust down to a comfortable size without so much bunching it looked bad or odd. The head liner is very comfortable and wicks sweat well, perfect shade for the face and neck. The hat packs down to almost nothing, fold the brim and cram it in a pack and then goes right back to shape when you need it. I climb and camp a lot and I'm tough on gear in general and gave this hat a pretty good work out while doing Sunshine Canyon and it held up fine.

Long and the short: I'll go ahead and say it's a perfect, durable design for cool to hot, hot, hot!! Unless I lose it should last a couple decades if not a lifetime.To top it all off the wife thought I looked "hot" with it on. Since it works so well I'll assume she didn't mean I look like I'm dripping in sweat hot!
