I'd always been a fan of the acrylic blend beanies that are out there and I'll be honest, I didn't see some of their limitations until I got this one. I had some previous experience with the Windstopper fabric in my EMS gloves and I thought that it would great to have that same performance in a hat. The hunch was rightit delivers just the kind of performance I wanted. It will keep your head warm and keep the chilling wind out. It comes down over my ears great, which some of my previous Polartec hats didn't do so well. The fit is great for me. I'd point out a few minor issues with the product that did stick out to me. The main one is that when wearing sunglasses, the effect of the wind-blocking fabric isn't there because of my frames. (I wear the Oakley M-Frame.) That's something I don't experience with just plain old acrylic-blend beanies. It might be nice to see slots for your frames to help with this. At times, that annoyed me. But overall, this product is exactly what I thought it would be. It's a major step up from what I'd had before and I'd definitely recommend it to folks looking for a good cold-weather hat. You really can't go wrong with OR Gear.An OR Storm beanie will work on any size head and keep them plenty warm,I promise.It works even better in extremely cold weather under an OR Transcendent Down hat.
