This Balaclava is warm, soft and comfortable. If you have to be out in very cold weather to shovel snow or perform other chores, this is a very good choice. The elastic around the face is snug and doesn't allow cold air in.

I have not worn it for sport (yet), so can't comment on it's performance during aerobic activity.

Very warm, but I can still fit it under my bike helmet. You might not like it if you are bald, because there are noticeable seams on the inside. Even without a helmet, my head is so big that they leave marks on my scalp that take a long time to disappear. Otherwise I think it's great.

I bought this 'clava specifically to keep cold air off of my neck. The next most important reason was to keep the head warm. I didn't want cold weather to keep me from riding. My helmet size is 2XL and my head shape is considered "intermediate oval". If you're one like myself who buys a proper-fitting helmet, you know that there shouldn't be room for much else, other than, well, your head. When I have my helmet on with the 'clava, it definitely feels too restrictive and greatly limits my head turns. After a couple of cold outings on my sportbike, I realized it's not getting any larger just doesn't stretch out much, if any. I didn't give this product a lesser rating because it ended up not being a total loss. I took a pair of scissors and cut the top off, right where the eye opening was. Now, if I have the 'clava on at eye level, donning the helmet carefully will slide the 'clava down just about where I like it under the nose. It still keeps the wind out and the material is plenty soft. My advice to other potential buyers is to buy the half 'clava instead. The restrictive movement is no longer and, if tucked beneath the top of your riding jacket, does an excellent job keeping the wind out.
