Although the cost was high I am well pleased with the overall quality of my hat.I have received a large number of compliments on the hat with with several people trying to steal the hat when I wasnt looking. If you want a top of the line straw hat then buy this one.

I received this hat as a gift so can not rate price or service. The hat however is 3 stars at best. I once had the good fortune of having a straw boater from Stetson, and there is no comparison. This hat to me is more a stage prop or costume item than a quality hat. It was not well blocked. Neither the crown nor brim is flat. It is not sufficiently rigid, especially the brim (floppy). Had I the opportunity to see this hat and try it on, I would not have purchased it.

I bought this piece for a musical I costume designed. I was really worried, because I have a paranoia as a designer that some hats look cheap when you get them in person. This hat was really great quality, it fit my actor well (so the measurements were accurate) and I'm grateful to have it in my hat collection for future uses. It's nice to know this product can take a beating like being used on stage during a musical, and still come out looking brand new!
