It really does look nice and it's warm. It is pretty expensive for a winter hat but the price to pay for something different.

The badges are not attached so that you have the option to not wear it and not have a hole poked into the front of your ushanka. Of course the fish fur will probably hide it if you put it on and change your mind later. I chose not to wear it because it's a naval officer insignia. I was a U.S. Navy NCO and I didn't want to put on a rank I didn't have. I sized my head and ordered the exact size. I should have gone a little bit bigger because right now it may be a little too snug. I hope I'll be able to stretch it out.
