Contrary to the product description, this is acrylic and polyester. However it does look like wool...without the itch! In addition to the subtle ombre effect, there is a heather or tweed effect from sparse use of a tan yarn. The dome of the cap is high enough for a slight slouch looseness. By removing the label on the inside, you can give the rim a second turn to get a snug watchman's cap fit. I expect this to last for years.
