I had bought this hat for winter and find it a joy and a comfort. It is of comfortable material and very warm. Thick brim and hat provide a great protection for arctic winds and zero temperatures. It is very stylish and practical. The hidden ear flaps help keep the hat snug on my head when inside and they help keep my ears from freezing in the cold mornings when they are out. I take my hat every where I go and I am not disappointed in getting it. Thanks to the many warm features and design. It is a five star recommendation.

I own four Tilley hats.Three summer hats, and now this wool one for winter. This is the first one I have purchased by mail order. It was delivered quickly and fit exactly as expected. Because of the type skin I have, I am skin cancer prone and must wear head gear. Nothing is more comfortable than a Tilly.

Tilley hats are always well constructed. My only complaint with Tilley hats in general are that their brims are not quite stiff enough so you can shape it to your liking. Always have to use sizing to stiffen it up to hold the particular shape I desire. As for this particular hat I don't like the fold down ear flaps. For one thing the flaps are way too tight to be comfortable and for another when you have the flaps tucked up inside the hat, they tend to fall back down outside the edge of the head band area which is distracting and not very pleasing to have to be constantly shoving the flaps back up into the hat.

My husband loves this Christmas gift. He looks good and has to use the ear flaps when its cold here in Minnesota, and I have to admit they don't look too bad. I highly recommend the Tilley Montana Winter Hat. It shipped promptly through Amazon. No problems. A Tilley hat can't be beat!
