I just got my hat in the mail and it looks great.Very well made,however this is a LIGHT structured hat.I didnt know what a structured hat meant until i looked it up on the net and for you others that dont know what that means--structured hat means it is a hat that can hold its shape.So i tried the hat on and i was disappointed.Since its only lightly structured,it makes my head look more lumpy than it already is!!LOL! The front of the hat where the logo is can get dented(squashed in) easily and makes it look like you have a dent in your head.

Conclusion---The hat is very well made.Typical craftsmanship from Carhartt,however since the hat is only lightly structured,it gets dented easily and makes your head look lumpy.Dont know why someone would stitch a hat so well and use strong materials but then not fully structure a hat?!!? I will NOT wear the hat and i threw it in the closet.I should have looked up what a structured hat meant first before buying which is my fault.I didnt buy this hat off Amazon which clearly states lightly structured.I bought from another retailer which didnt give much detail and didnt say much about the hats construction.Guess i should have checked Amazon first and looked up the meaning of "structured hat" :(

--oh yeah if anyone was wondering, this is a fitted/flexfit style hat which is known as Carhartts Workflex style and there is a small logo patch stitched on the rear of the hat since there are no pictures that show this at this time.

I am really picky about hats. Especially ball caps. You would think by now I would learn to only buy what i could try on in a store but I haven't. I am a big fan of Amazon. In my corner of Alaska, stores are scarce and Carhartt's are the present you get from your dad when he has decided you are a man. So I am a big fan of the brand and have been around it my whole life and can attest to the quality.

Anyway, other reviewers have said this hat crushes easily and doesn't hold its structure, that is exactly what I love about it. It molds to the shape of my head perfectly and doesn't have a high profile look to it. Out of the box it is extremely comfortable. The brim is stiff enough to shape easily and the flex fit style is the best I have worn. Even when I order the L/XL sizes of Flex Fit they usually squeeze my head and give me headaches until I am able to break them in. I ordered the L/XL of this hat and it is perfect out of the box. It doesn't have a whole lot of stretch / elasticity. Some Flex Fit hats can stretch what seems like another inch or so. This one doesn't flex so much.

I really like the subdued logo and think it is just a sweet hat all the way around. I'm tempted to order several just so that I have them just in case I lose them or something.

I used to be a big fan of Carhartt's well made work clothing. My admiration is waning, after finding they've outsourced their manufacturing to foreign countries (e.g. Mexico, Nicaragua, China). This cap looked nice in the Amazon picture (naturally). Subdued. Classic. The one I received, made in China, looked nothing like the pretty picture. The large "C" logo was frayed and ragged, as if it went through the washer and dryer fifty times. Nowhere did I see depicted or described that this was to have a "worn" look to it. Maybe it's a 'fashionable' thing to some, but not me. Very disappointed. I have old, used caps that look better than this. This goes back to the seller.

What happened to Carhartt? Everything they have now is made out of country. Used to love and respect the brand as American made and for the the working man. I won't buy their stuff anymore.

It's a good secure fit for my 7 3/8 head. The dye is a little disappointing having discolored after a couple of good sweats though. I attempted a wash but it was no good.
