These are one of the better Balaclava's I have ever used. It is a little snug but if I can get my large head in there anything smaller than an elephant should find these comfortable.

The only improvement I would make is a type of cinch to the face mask. If there were extra fabric with a cinch this would allow for your face to be covered without having the moisture from your breath build up in the fabric.

I dont wear scarves, and prefer to use the fleece gator. It wraps around my neck and covers my face. Well, this Chinook micro fleece is the next generation to this. The first plus is that it is not too tight..being micro fleece, it stretches, and for a guy like me with a big head, I need that. Many a time, i would buy a balaclava or gator and it would be too tight for me...not this. The hat side could be pulled down so it becomes a gator, which i use along with my wool balaclava hat. When it gets really cold..and it has in Chicago, I put the hood on and becuase it's thing, I could put my hat over it. You can also leave the hood on and pull the gator over the top of the hood making a nice hat.

I love this thing and if you are a fan of the fleece gator over the scarve, then you need to get this...NOW!!!

This balaclava keeps me warm in the winter, and the hinge makes it easy to uncover my nose and mouth if I get too hot, and take it only partly off, like a hood, when I get inside. Easy to clean and pretty comfortable to wear, too.
