I bought one of these a few years ago. Loved the hat until it got completely saturated during a rain storm. When it dried it shrank so much it does not even come close to fitting anymore. I tried leather softeners and conditioners, but can't get it to stretch back to its regular size. If buying, buy at least 1-2 sizes larger than you would expect to need. My brother also has one, and he has the exact same problem.

Hubby bought one at a bike show many years ago and it was a fantastic hat. Kept his head completely dry in a pouring rain storm and light enough to keep sun off without being hot. Super soft material can be folded and put in your pocket and maintains it's shape. Needed a replacement since dear son "borrowed" it and never returned it. Would buy this again and again.

Don't tell anybody, but this is the BEST HAT EVER, I don't want everyone to have one. A few years ago I bought a Bill Conner (BC Hats) Kangaroo hat. Because I liked it so much I set out to buy a second one (it is a good hat) as a spare, they limit Kangaroo export from time to time. I couldn't find one. I ended up buying the Barmah 1018 Hickory Crackle. I didn't think anything could beat the BC but this one did. I bought this Barmah 1018 Ironstone just a few months later, had to have another one. I'm a "hat guy", I've gone thru a lot of different styles of hats, not caps, and this one is it. I have found my "trademark". If you like a low crown, wide brim, no pinch hat, that is well made, looks great, and will last forever, this could be the one for you. If you don't have any you should know Kangaroo leather is lighter and stronger than Cow hide leather. This hat can get hot in the summer, but it's worth it. I would recommend this hat to anyone, and I have already bought one again. Since I read the other reviews I have to say that I have worn this hat in the rain and the snow, (and fanned a few camp fires) and have never experienced problems like the person who said it shrank after being wet. Runs true to size, is well made, functional, and looks cool.
