Very well made. The materials used in the hat are functional and serve the purpose of the hat. The hat is more than big enough, as many hats seem too tight for my head. I am very happy with my purchase.

For the general hat functionality I really like the hat. It's warm and covers the head and neck very well. You can also fold it easily (flat) and put it in your pocket. The area where I have a big issues is the straps used to hold the flaps back behind the head or strap it around your chin are terrible. This is a major design error or someone trying to save a nickel. The buckle is too flat and tiny. It's hard to open blind (behind your head) or close under your chin with warm bare hands. It's completely impossible to do it with gloves or if your hands are cold. I have lots of OR products and generally love their design and quality. This one happens to be a nice idea, but with one fundamental design flaw. It's a Winter hat, your fingers are going to be cold or you will be using gloves. Think!!

On the positive side, this hat fits my head. It's very difficult for me to find hats big enough, but this one is. I wore it a lot during the recent cold snap here (single-digit negative with a breeze) and it kept my head and ears warm. It's a little itchy, but the major flaw is the catch on the neck strap. It is hard to undo without gloves on and impossible with gloves on. I also end up pulling beard hair while struggling with it. Perhaps the snaps on the side could be removed to allow a better catch? I sure can't figure out what the snaps and pockets on either side are used for. I posted question here and on the manufacturer's site with no response.
