I wanted a cap that was sort of a military type. Something flexible enough to go over or off ears, with a bill. It's double layer-wool outside, acrilic inside,makes it very warm & comfortable. I have a 7-3/8 head(kinda big) and, at 1st, I was really disappointed because, right out of the box, I couldn't even get it on,. I was going to send it back..But, I wanted that hat! I stretched it over the back rest on an exercise bicycle & left it for an hour or so. Now, it's a nice loose(comfortable) fit & I love it. It seems well made & should last a long time. If I wash it (Cold Water), I'll probably have to stretch it again, but that's OK..

It's soft, warm, well-made, and pretty good-looking. My size is 7 1/2, and it fits perfectly fine. Covers your ears even with the flap up. A good winter hat.

bought it for my husband, who works outdoors, but when I tried it on and looked in the mirror, it was all over but the crying. you cannot compare the warmth of wool to acrylic. hat is roomy for larger head, but not loose for my 7 1/4 size.

only possible issue for wearer is, if the wearer doesn' like wool next to the skin, the acrylic liner does not extend far enough down.

the bill is plastic, so dont see a problem hand washing the item.
