This review is of a cap purchased through Amazon from Shoebuy.
The bill on the cap, while the correct material and design, was way too small for the cap, as if it were for a child's cap. It was sewn onto the cap off-center, facing about 5 degrees off from the center of the cap. It was so obvious as to be comical. The materials appeared to be first rate, a thicker and "rougher" wool blend than an Aegean wool cap. Too bad they couldn't assemble it correctly, I would have loved to have one.
The cap is branded "Dorfman Pacific". Nowhere on the cap does it say "Scala". A little research revealed though that Scala is a brand owned by Dorfman Pacific, so I suppose this was no great sin.
As a side note, It should be mentioned that vendor SHOEBUY dragged their feet at every step in the return process, with my refund finally showing up on my credit card account 24 days after my first contact with them indicating my desire to return the cap. I feel that without Amazon's help in lighting a fire under these people, my hope of a refund would have been futile.
Good luck should you choose to hazard an order for this cap.

This cap is manufactured well but is large even for the stated size. I will have to do some modification before everyday wear. A good looking cap made with good materials and workmanship.

I love this Scala brand wool Greek fisherman (also known as Dutch Botter's) hat and have purchased some in the past as well. The "wool blend" as currently shown on the label shows 50% wool and 50% Viscose. Now they're made in China however the quality still seems nice.
Honest reviews on Scala Men's Wool Blend Fisherman Cap
The Agian version (made in Greece, of very good quality, and available from several vendors) is a type commonly used in the summer, and can be purchased in wool, canvas (which I think is the same as "cotton"), and cotton. (I purchased 2 hats, from different vendores, trying to get one like the Scala, and got exactly the same hat from both of them but, the WRONG one!) The Agian version is NOT "crushable" (like a felt backpacker's hat), while the Scala version IS "crushable" (atleast, once broken in). Also, the Scala version has a brim that's about 2 inches wider than the band, while the Agian hat brim is the same size as the band. Lastly, the felt material of the Scala hat is a bit thicker than the Agian hats (about twice as heavy), which makes it better for winter use. The hat I had before (stolen) was slightly heavier yet, and stood up very well to winter cold and rain in the Pacific NW. This one should be a good replacement.
