The hat is probably one of the few hats that fit my head. Initially, I was prompted to order a large but after having read a few reviews, I opted for x-large. The hat sits nicely above the ears and has not pressure points along the sweatband.

The hat is a little heavy but it does stay put should one be out on a windy day. It comes with a chin cord and looks pretty good altogether. The leather needs a little treatment before being exposed to rain/snow. I tried the hat under a faucet and the water does bead off but, there was a little soaking in some areas. So, I will be getting some mink oil to condition the leather (and soften it) before taking it out.

Fold it, flatten it, etc, it will hold its shape! It's a little stiff for folding so some leather oil is needed. For such a nice hat, why would one even consider folding it up into a bag anyways?

Four stars! [I took one star away because the stitching ruined a bit of the cooper band that runs around the hat]

beautiful hat, but was way too small. The amazon hat size chart says I wear a medium, but I had to return it and order the large instead. Cost me 9.45 to return it. I'm looking forward to getting the larger size hat.

I originally ordered a similar Barmah hat in size medium, but it ran small and looked tiny on my head. I was going to return it, but it was such a beautiful hat that a family member it actually did fit quickly claimed it, lol... and I ordered this similar style (without mesh) in a size large. The large fit is a bit loose and I have a lot of hair. But it's a comfortable loose. I don't want too snug or floppy big. Everyone says it looks proportional and not too big. It feels comfortable.

The deep brown color is beautiful and the style has a whole lot of character... I'd say it looks great on a male or female. I love the hat and am taking it on an outdoor journey abroad as the style just suited the adventure, lol. I will not be wearing it during rainy season or snow... can't say what's going to happen if it gets wet. But I'm going to look great on any non-rainy day! lol. It is "squashy" and will pack easy in a suitcase or backpack without taking much space. Very convenient!

My dad is also a size medium and he hardly has any hair and we can wear the same ball cap... I had him try it on and he said this large felt big on him and he preferred a medium. So either my dad's head is actually smaller than mine... or the lack of hair is giving him a smaller fit.

Well just something to keep in mind.

Honest reviews on Barmah Hats Squashy Bronco T2 Leather Hat 1022CD

I have owned several Barmah hats, all size XXL and they fit perfectly. They have changed their sizing so that XXL is now a full size smaller than it was, and also they do not offer a size larger than that anymore. Thus I can no longer buy their wonderful hats. I recently lost my best hat and when I got a replacement found it was way too small, even though it had the same sizing label as the one I lost.
