This hat is great and has worked well in the cold weather. The only problem is that the "one size fits all" is a little small for someone with a big head... large hat size!

The fleece caps we had weren't quite warm enough, so I got a couple of these. They are very well made and keep our heads, and especially our ears, nice and toasty warm! There is quite a bit of flexibility in how you wear this, e.g. whether you fold the ears up (they'll stay up) and where you put the mask. When it's very cold out, you can wear the mask as shown in the picture, but the top can also be put just below the mouth so that you can speak clearly or under the chin. We're very happy with these.

I thought the face/neck portion was detachable, but it's not, so it's a little difficult to pull down over your head and the fit is tight if you push it up into the top portion

I recently purchased the 2-in-1 Carhartt and have had the opportunity now to use it on several occasions. I am a railroad conductor out in all inclement weather and this is hands down the warmest, best fitting most convenient piece of essential cold weather gear I own. I am ordering another as soon as I finish this review.... Cant go wrong here!

I am the caretaker of a wonderful German Shepherd named Lion. Living two blocks from Lake Michigan, I like to take him on walks along the lakefront each day, but really started suffering from the cold as things moved from fall into winter. I got a lot of warm clothing, but my face was having a rough time with the winds coming off the lake. I ordered this headgear and I was delighted with the results. I took him on a walk wearing this hat on a Sunday morning during a blizzard with winds coming hard off the lake at up to 60 miles an hour and with wind chill well under zero. I was amazingly comfortable, not just my torso but my entire head.

When I first got the hat I worried that the thin fabric of the bottom part of the headgear would be too fine to keep me warm, but if it was any heavier, it would be uncomfortable. I don't need the part that expands over the face except on days when it gets below 7 or 8 degrees or if there is a very strong wind, but I find it quite comfortable.

This review focuses exclusively on utilitarian aspects. Stylewise, it doesn't look that great and it in fact looks a tiny bit dorky. But when I'm on the beach I am not concerned with fashion. I want to be warm and comfortable. And this had definitely achieves that. I definitely recommend it.
