It was a given that I would love my Tilley! It has a wide brim for sun protection, easy to clean, and then there's the amazing guarantee! I do wish the "front" of the hat was a little less flimsy in the wind, but it's tolerable.

What I didn't expect was the amazing customer service I got from these guys! I ordered the wrong size (using their chart) and not only did they gladly send me another hat to try, they sent me TWO and told me to mail them all back together!! I was shocked. I'm a customer!

The LT6B is my preferred hat for anything but summer. It keeps the sun out of my eyes with the wide brim, it also keeps the sun off my face and nose and ears. Even without insulation, I am warmer wearing it. I much prefer it to the cotton and hemp as it does not soak up moisture to create evaporative cooling (swamp cooler). Recently someone took my hat (this model) and I have no complaints replacing it with the same model. I have used 4 other brands that were considered to be the best but this one really is the best. I rig the strap so it is a chin strap and when I want the hat off, I just throw it back and don't lose it by setting it down. good peace of mind with a powerful tool. I have had four Tilley hats. I still own two, a wool winter hat that is my favorite winter hat and this, which is my new favorite hat for the other seasons.

Tilley hats are comfortable, stay on in stiff winds, collapse for putting in carry-on luggage, clean easy, give the protection from sun or elements that we all look for and are easy to clean (plus they resist soiling).

They cost more than a lot of hats but are not the most expensive hats on the market. And I would pay more if asked.

works very nicely for moderate or hot weather. solid compromise between waterproof and reasonably breathable. easily maintained, very durable. hard to imagine it wearing out. i've had a couple of other tilly hats over the years. all of them still look new or nearly so. expensive but still pretty good bang for the buck.
