The quality of the product is very good from ASICS. The Cap itself does not serve the purpose of providing shade in the sun. The cap is too small for a normal sized head and this certainly would be a great product for a kid when out in the sun. For a grown person this cap does not cover the neck and the front it does not fit well either.

I would have loved for ASICS to make this in a larger size for people like me who are out in the sun for sports and other activities. I bought this from Amazon and as always Amazon service was great. But my search for a good cap that provides shade for neck and a bit of shoulder will continue.

I use this hat while running outside in high heat, between 80-90 F. It works great! The hat doesn't use a velcro strap to adjust, but a small bungee cord, which I love. I have another running cap that uses a velcro strap, and I just don't like it as much. The neck cape velcros to the edges and there are two snaps at the front to keep it on.

I wet the cap before going out so that it provides air conditioning for my head while reflecting the sunlight. The neck cape also easily absorbs water and while it's evaporating, it feels wonderful. There is a large opening in the back where the bungee cord can be used to adjust the fit, and I use it to pull through my ponytail. Otherwise, I have my hair in a tight bun and the cape goes right over it.

The only drawback is that this hat is definitely not stylish. But I've gotten to the point where I don't care about looking cute while I'm running! I just want a good run while keeping the sun off my head and neck, and this hat works a lot better than the other basic caps that I own. All in all, I highly recommend.

Need a way to fasten the sides under the chin. I added a snap. Otherwise, the flaps flap in breezy conditions and the sides of your face are not protected.

Neck shade caps never look great, but this one is particularly ugly. It does fit well and covers the ears and neck nicely, but I don't think I'll be wearing it.

Tennis players sweat. A lot. Moisture management clothing of all kinds is a wonderful innovation for us. This cap sounds like it would be good for us, but it really isn't.

This cap comes with a detachable neck shade. Good, because I took that off. The size adjustment is a drawstring instead of the usual adjustable strap. It works, but the extra string hanging out looks funny. I cut that off once I fit it to my head. And see the sort of ridges along the top insert in the pictures? Those actually stand up like that, sort of like a civil war cap. It works, but it looks odd.

Finally, the construction itself. The material is double thickness. For some applications that would be a good thing, especially for someone out in direct sun a lot. Say, like a fisherman. When what you want is quick dissipation of heat it is not so good. I prefer the caps I have that are a single thickness.
