Do not buy these gloves. The fingers are 3/4 to an inch too long. The stitching did not stand up to even three days of work. We do not have time to waste on products like this.

My gloves fit perfect. They looked good, were light weight and cool to use in the summer. With light use the stitches holding the elastic wrist to the glove gave away. That was only after 6 weeks of occasional use. They are completely useless now. I cannot recommend with such poor/cheap stitching.

These gloves are offer a high degree of flexibility that heavier leather ones do not have . I would not use them for materials that are very rough like roof shingles, but they allow you to grip much better.Honest reviews on Carhartt Men's The Dex Spandex And Goatskin Work Glove
Pros:Comfortably snug fit (except for length of pinky), allowing for wearing while driving, and signing/folding/enveloping of paperwork.
Attractive styling.
Cons:
Don't last quite as long as other goatskin (but looser-fitting) gloves. 7-8 weeks of light, daily use before wearing-through.

I bought the XL "Dex" to replace a pair of XL "Utility" gloves that I had lost. A couple of months ago I looked hight and low for another pair of "Utility"s and no one had them in stock on amazon.com. The Carhartt's site said that they were no longer making the "Utility" style glove and the "Dex" was their replacement. BUT, now I see that Amazon has the "Utility" style gloves for sale. I'm buying every XL pair they have, well that might be a slight exaggeration.Anyway, the "Dex" felt about a ½" shorter. I have a pair of large "Utility" gloves and the XL "Dex" is about the same size, maybe looser around the hand, but the same length. In every other glove that I have ever purchased, an XL is supposed to be extra long, not extra wide.
Yesterday I found my XL "Utility" pair; the XL "Dex" isn't a ½ inch shorter, they are a little over an inch shorter.
The Velcro wrist strap, rubs between the heel of my palm and the joint at my wrist. The strap rubs right where all of the movement of the hand occurs. Take your thumb and rub it back and forth at that spot. If you don't like the sensation, then don't buy this style, fair warning, the strap makes it ten times worse.
I use my "Utility" gloves when I go out on my ATV, they are perfect for riding anything that has a handle bar; they had warmth when it's cold; and the fabric on top of the fingers keeps your hand from getting hot, when it's warm. But, there is no way in "7734" that I could wear the "Dex" while out riding on my ATV. They annoyed me so much the other day that I had to take them off... and I was just walking my dog... dealing with my cold hands was far less aggravating. I have since given the "Dex" pair away.
Shaving an inch of material off of each glove can help the company's bottom line, but they should have put comfort and wear-ability first. Over the past several years, I have purchased Carhartt hats, coats, pants, shirts, and gloves and this pair of gloves is the first item that I have ever purchased that I truly thought were sized wrong. In fact the first couple of times that I tried them on, I had to look at the tag, thinking, they must have sent me a large.
I'm glad that I found my "Utility" pair. The next time I lose them, and before I ever buy "new style", I'll do what I should have done this time... I'll get in my car, and I'll go support my local store by trying them on and buying them there...
