A quality hat, albeit perhaps slightly over-priced. However, for the money you get solid construction and nice features. It is easy to adjust the fit, which is a good thing, because the hat only comes in two sizes. I have a size 7 3/8, 23" circumference head, and the adjustable band on the inside needed about a 50% tightening. If you have a small head, say size 7 or 7 1/8, even the "M/L" as it is called, will be too big. The "L/XL" must be really big, which you watermelon-heads will appreciate.
The crown and brim have built-in wire for shaping, and this is easy to do as well. Wide brim with dark underside to prevent reflection, and a good chinstrap complete the picture.
Sunday Afternoons is trying to compete (in some ways,) with renowned Canadian company, Tilley. I have a couple of their hats as well, which are expensive but extremely well made. This Charter hat is great for hot weather, and will be on my head during my raft trip through the Grand Canyon in September, which will be the acid test for sure.

I was going on vacation to AZ and first decided on this hat. Once I got it, I decided it wasn't the best style for me with long hair which I will want to put into a pony tail when it's hot. So I returned it and bought a better suited style at the Sunday Afternoons website that is carried here but through a third party seller and I needed it in two days (was not Prime). That hat I love and will review here even though purchased direct from manufacturer.

I have several hats, but much more formal. This is a great hat for weekends, walking, playing, at sporting events, etc. Looks good enough to wear anywhere, but casual enough to not feel out of place while at leisure.

The vented crown of the hat is simply not cool enough. Well constructed but living and hiking in the desert, I would prefer more air flow.
