I picked up several of the Bailey of Hollywood Billy online in 3 colors: espresso, lavender melange, & light grey. I wish there were more reviews on Amazon for Bailey hats, or hats in general. It is very difficult to know how any hat is going to fit ahead of time since you usually can't go to the mall and try them on. I normally wear a 7 3/8 in New Era baseball caps and this Billy in Large fits me perfectly.

Compared to the Mannes, which is another great Bailey product, the Billy fits a little bit bigger in terms of space. 'Billy' is made of a paper/polyester mix. That doesn't sound fancy, but the fabric/material is quite nice and of a well-built quality. The material is thicker than the Mannes, but not too thick.

'Billy' looks great. The solid colors look a little better and more restrained/traditional, but the patterned ones lavender melange at least are not too busy.

One thing to mention is that the light grey is really more of a silver. I probably would have returned that one for being too "shiny" in retrospect.

The brim is stingy, so you can wear it up all-around like a pork-pie hat, or you can wear it with the front-part down, like a fedora. It just snaps into place and holds there. Since you can wear it easily as either a pork-pie or a fedora, it's really like getting two hats in one.

For travel, it says it is packable/ crushable. I personally haven't tried that out yet, and I don't want to mash the hat to test that out! But given the shape (ie, it's not a driving/flat cap), I probably would never pack it in a suitcase.

I had tried on a Billy a few years ago when I bought the Mannes, but thought it fit too big at the time. But now, a few years later, I realize it's quite comfortable and very good looking. If anything, it makes the Mannes feel too small. I jump back and forth between which one I prefer. Both are great.

Billy has a good amount of head room in terms of rise/height. If you have a tall/big head, this would be a good choice (compared to Mannes which is definitely shorter proportions). I really like them both and think they're both a good value for a very nice hat that will last you a long time. Definitely recommended and comes in lots of good colors too, which means you'll want more than one.
