Love the hat! It is very functional (rain protection, warmth, sun protection) and it has it own funky style. I use the hat for backpacking so that i am ready for any weather. i like that it doesn't have a brim that would intefere with, and dump water on, my backpack. I also keep it in my pocket on morning walks in case of rain or wind.

I bought this hat for a rainy weekend in Vancouver, BC, knowing that if my head were wet I'd be miserable. With its fleece liner and water proof lid/visor, this hat was just perfect at keeping me warm, comfy, and earache-free. Not a bad price either, compared to outdoors store prices.

I received the hat a few minutes ago. I really like it except that it is too small. I consulted the sizing chart and my head size should fit comfortably in a medium. In reality I need a large, so this one is going back to Amazon. Fortunately they offer free return shipping. I just ordered a large this time and will keep my fgingers crossed.

Do youself a favor and order one size larger than the sizing chart shows.

This may be useful in wet cold rain. There are couple of issues in the other mode

the outer shell does not breathe well. No mesh. So on a warm day, I would prefer some other model from OR that has a mesh. And not only that, the magnet attachment that helps the ear flaps up gives this a weird look. I prefer to fold in the flaps inside the hat which makes the whole setup slightly tight.

The inner "warm" layer is kind of small. It does not cover the earlobes (as someone else has already mentioned)

I ordered the extra large. It was too small. Even though their sizing guide said large was big enough. This is inexcusable.
