I got this hat to replace a hiking hat I had years ago. The positive: the hat is comfortable and light. The finishing (stitching, trim) is good. The negative: the canvas is too flexible and not firm enough. It doesn't hold its shape as well as I would like and I find myself constantly having to adjust the crease/pinch at the front. For a casual hiking hat I suppose that's OK, but it doesn't do as well for everyday use.

I love this hat. I get so many compliments on it just walking around in public. I use it as my "summer hat" for keeping the scorching sun off my head and face since I live near the equator.

The leather band is of high quality, and is still soft with no signs of cracking after a full summer of burning sun and occasional soaking rains.

The interior successfully wicks away sweat while venting out hot air to keep my head comfortably cool.

The brim is flexible enough to be shaped how you prefer (I wear mine with the back flipped up in classic fedora fashion) but rigid enough to keep its shape and not get that "I'm wearing a floppy hat" look. The crown is not what I would consider to be "crushable", as it is formed and retains its shape, rather than being something you could squish and expect to avoid creases and permanent bends.

The exterior seems to have a water-repellent coating, causing water to just bead right off.

Sizing seems to run slightly big; I wear a Medium of other brands, but this one is a bit too loose for my liking. Not a problem that a strip of foam around the inner lining doesn't fix.

A fellow that I work with was so impressed that he bought himself two of these (they come in different colors) and is also extremely happy with them.

I like the hat, but there is something funny in the sizing drop down.

I wear a 7 3/8. If you look at the sizing guidelines it seems to say that both a medium and a large fit 7 3/8. Not the case. The large was too big. The medium fits fine. Someone should correct that sizing widget.
