Last year I got the Columbia Men's Columbia Watch Cap II for my winter hat. I shave my head and can take the weather most of the time, but during the crazy Oregon winters when temperature changes at the drop of a hat, I need something just in case. That Columbia hat was great, but in the year that I've had it, it got pretty worn out. It was time for new head gear, and when I saw this Under Armour beanie in hyper green, I snatched it immediately. Come on, that color is as cool as it gets!
My head is on the big sideI have an Under Armour hat in L/XL and it fits snugly. This beanie is 'one size fits all', and amazingly enough, it fits me perfectly. The material on the outside is super soft, and the inner material retains and absorbs your own body heat, keeping you warm for good. I wear it all the way down in the back and just above my eyebrows. This really is a fantastic hat, keeping my head warm very well so far in standard fall weather. Come December, I know it's going to get the job done.
There's just one itty bitty problem I have with it. I wear glasses and the inside of the hat squeaks against the temples of them! The temples on glasses are the long parts that fold in/out and go behind your ears. There's no squeaking sound when I keep my head still, but literally every single time I move my head or turn it, there's squeaking. Well, I -havebeen considering giving contacts another try, so maybe this is what finally makes me go that way. Still, keep this in mind, or try on the hat for yourself before buying it, if you wear glasses, and make sure this doesn't drive you crazy. It's annoying, and I don't think there's any way to fix this.
The price is also five or ten bucks more than I'm comfortable with, though that's to be expected. Under Armour makes great stuff, and this hat is no exception.
...aside from the squeaking!
