Recently getting back into running, I encountered my old nemesis: copious sweat dripping into my eyes. I wear glasses, so not only does my vision get obscured, but the frames will constantly slip down my nose. I considered my options. I'm not exactly a 'do rag' kind of guy, and the terry cloth headbands were...odd looking. I was born in the 1980's, but I don't want to dress like like I still live in them. The cap is wonderful. It is EXTREMELY lightweight and comfortable to wear. I honestly forget that its on. The bill is nice to help block sun and light rain, and the majority of the 'body' of the hat is a fine mesh. It breathes very well. The Velcro strap on the back has a nice rubbery tab that allows you to adjust it in motion. I don't have qualms with the stitching either.
But my favorite part is the wicking action. Other caps I checked out had a very thin terry cloth band at the front. They didn't look like they would absorb much. But the Daybreak has an absorbing material that runs from the tip of the underside of the bill, around the front of the headband, and up the front of the 'body' of the cap so that it covers the forehead. After wearing this while mowing the lawn on a 90 degree day, I had zero problems with sweat in the eyes (or even down my face). When I removed the hat, from the exterior, you could see where the sweat had absorbed. This showed me that the hat did indeed work as intended, but it also made me happy I had bought a dark blue color. I think a lighter color may show it (and possibly discolor, but that's speculation).
It's a fantastic cap and was a great buy for me.
