I ordered this hat for my upcoming trip, hoping it would fit. I am 6'6" and have a big ol' melon. I have serious trouble finding hats that fit AND look sharp, even at a good hat shop(and Houston has a fair few). Easily the most comfortable hat I have ever owned. It also looks DAMN sharp!! If you want a good straw fedora for summer, this is your hat.

The hat was received quickly and was exactly as described. I especially like the stretch band on the inside which adds comfort and a secure fit. I do admit that I might have ordered the next size up if I had been aware of how well the interior band would function as I was initially concerned with getting a size that would slide around when in motion. All in all a great value and it looks great.

Pros: the hat arrived promptly and was probably a nice hat originally.

Cons:the hat arrived in a box at least two inches too small it. The total packaging was one sheet of tissue paper. Result was a very creased hat .

There was no problem with returning the hat, and the replacement was well packed. Unfortunately, it was the wrong type and the wrong size.

It's nice. Brilliant white, sharp as hell, it is a Fedora more than some sort of Panama hat, so it you're looking for a white classic Fedora, this works. Lots of contradicting info in the reviews. But the brim IS just as long as in the picture. And the edges do snap, but not reliably. For mine, the back edge is snapped down, and if I try to snap it up, it snaps up the front too, so it's basically a turned-down brim--not like a Trilby like in the third picture. I put a feather in the side.

Because it's straw, I've been terrified of how delicate it seems. When I try to pull it off or put it on with the pinch, I feel like I'm going to crease it and tear it, so I set it atop my head and push down into place from the sides. Pushing up from the sides under the brim is also how I take it off. I don't know if I CAN treat it like a normal hat and don't have to be so very careful with it, but it cracks and creaks with every move. Once I had an itch on my head, and my fingers went up to scratch it through the hat as a reflex, and CRUNCH. But the more I wear it, the more it seems to be softening up and seeming more sturdy. I also sprayed Scotch Guard on it in the beginning, which made it crackle a lot for a while whenever I touched it. But not anymore.

The inside headband is an elastic cotton band. Works great, and holds it snug to your head. Sometimes TOO snug, but it loosens up. It seems the hat shrinks a bit in the heat. Some reviews say you don't have to worry too much about the size, and some say they got by well ordering a size down. Don't buy it. Order your size, or a tad larger if you're feeling adventurous. Which brings me to the bad point:

Dealing with the company and returns is a real pain. And if you don't fight for what's right, you'll be screwed. As you can see you have to pay for shipping. No Prime here. So my hat came to me, after I used the sizing chart, and was too small. The company actually expected me to pay for shipping again to send it back, and pay AGAIN to have the replacement hat sent back to me. That's THREE TIMES. Almost the price of the hat.

Anyway, I got Amazon to give me a credit for the cost of shipping it back (good 'ole Amazon). Then Ultrafino (who I went back and forth with multiple times by email and phone, and they usually didn't answer their phone) intended to process and refund the old hat; told me to order the new size in the meantime. I paid the shipping for the second hat, since Amazon had already credited me the previous shipping. THEN I learn that Ultrafino only intended to refund me the purchase price of the first hat and KEEP the shipping charge I paid initially. So I got her to agree to refund the shipping too. Later, when the refund went back to my bank account, it was lacking the shipping charge, so I had to call back and have them refund me the additional amount. She said she'd process it that day. A week went by with no results. Finally after threatening to start a dispute with Amazon, she processed the additional refund for the original shipping.

So finally, after a lot of haggling and hassling, I had a hat that fit me while only paying for the hat and shipping once. And I'll give Ultrafino credit for eventually agreeing to do the right thing, but they sure made it difficult.

Great hat, but you'd better get it right the first time.

I was skeptical about buying a hat online, not being able to see it, feel it and try it on. The hat arrived ahead of schedule in perfect condition and fit like it was custom made. I have had many compliments on the hat and will buy one or two more. Looks good and is great protection from the hot Texas sun.
