This is an excellently made hat, with immaculately detailed pressing and curving in the brim, crown, and detail of the "pop-up" top. The ribbon along the outside is stitched firmly in place, not just lackadaisically attached here and there, and the optional feathers are made with a very firmly attached sheath of plastic that makes inserting them into the rim of the ribbon not only easy, but makes the delicate feathers very durable. The rim of the crown is also made of a nice bamboo fiber that is soft and still durable, making wearing the article very comfortable.
Note; this is a "porkpie" style hat, and is meant to be worn high on the head. As a result, it may seem to be smaller than you thought once you take it out, but just bear in mind that this is not a fedora or other such deep-rimmed hat. If you do not like hats to sit higher than your brow, try a different style. Also, if you do not like a hat that grips your forehead as tightly, I suggest getting a size up, as this hat seems to be inclined to be a tighter fit. It will ease into a comfort zone, but it could take awhile to do so for people on the larger end of the sizing chart.
Overall, it's an excellent quality item.

Exactly as advertised and pictured.
The only complaint I have is that the hat is unlined. But this is my first hat of this type and for all I know unlined is a desireable trait.
The pictures do not show a liner so I am not counting this against the product.
Also Hats in the Belfry shipped my hat so soon, within hours of placing my order, that I had too phone the company too ask for some sizing tape. They were totally professional about that as well and the sizing tape arrived the day before the hat. Which came in a sturdy plain cardboard box.
It is everything I was expecting for my 'Heisenberg' hat lol

It fits perfectly, like it was custom made. Very quick delivery also. I wear it almost everyday. It goes with a leather jacket as well as a blazer and jeans.

I bought two of these--one black and one gray--to top off the "polo shirt over chinos" outfits I usually wear to church or on the golf course. I'd been meaning to get me a couple of pork pie hats ever since I started building my complete collection of Marcus Miller's albums. I'd already added a Fender Jazz bass like he uses to the Precision bass I'd used for years last year. These hats seem to fit the bill, and another customer's warning not to let them get wet is well-taken and it's advice I plan to follow. About the only drawbacks here is that you only get black or gray as color choices. They could have added a couple more colors like navy blue or tan. I even went to the Belfry Hats website and nope--the black and gray offered here seem to be the only two colors they make. And the gray is more of a charcoal gray than the medium gray pictured here.
