Great for backpacking trips or stashing in a bag in case you need some sun protection or end up with a rat's nest in your hair that you need to cover. Dries very quickly and the ventilated sides/breathable fabric keep your dome cool. For long hours in the sun (especially out on the water), I prefer a woven fedora or a Tilley hat. Sizes run a little large. I normally wear a L/XL "flexfit" hat, and I ordered the large. It was too big, but fit my nephew well because he has a larger head and very thick hair. I gifted it to him and am going to order the same hat in a medium. Also, FYI, the fit is larger than OR's "radar pocket sun cap". In that hat, a L fits me well and a medium is way too small.

This has quickly become one of my favorite hats. I love the side ventilation mesh and the split bill design keeps the bill from bending or distoring after machine washing. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that there's no adjustability in the cap. On windy days, I wish I could tighten it.

GREAT for hot weather. Fabric is single layer cotton/Spandex fabric. Perfect weight, breathes well, will stretch to fit somewhat. Dries fairly quickly. Large, cool fit that sinks down to the ears for good coverage and retention while allowing some air circulation around the head. Alas! Soft mesh on the side made contact with Velcro in the washresulting in a hole! Could be more durable there. There's a cord loop stitched to the crown on the inside rear...would prefer it were stitched to the bottom rear sweatband, where it would be more useful for hanging and for clipping the thing to you with a tether. I detest the large logo irremovably embroidered right on the front. OR should be paying me to be their walking billboard.

I have a size 8 hat size. XL is too large. I get all types if compliments on this hat. Everyone wants one. So I am ordering another. Needs some sort of chin strap as even in the small sizes the band slips off your hair. I noticed the dirtier my hair the better it adhered. Give it a shot. You'll love it.

I like the radar cap it's stylish and comfortable. I've had it for over a month now and have found that it's fold-up brim is very handy.
