I bought this hat on a tip from the ski shop guy. You pull the scarf up over your nose when you are skiing and down by your neck when talking on the chairlift. When it's time to use the snowblower, seems the wind always blows the snow back at you... but with this hat/scarf combo, you stay warm.
I would never bundle the attached scarf into the hat... instead, flip it up onto your forehead or just pull it down by your neck. Fits perfect under my ski helmet. Now, the scarf does get moist after breathing into it for six hours at the ski hill (no surprise). Same goes for a normal scarf, I guess. Even so, this combo hat is awesome and easy to use.

When I ordered this I thought the windbreaker pulldown thing was a great idea, that was until I got the hat and tried to put it on! It is nearly impossible to put the hat on without the windbreaker bunching up inside the hat, and I never could figure out how to use the windbreaker, it's really awkward to use and poorly designed.
