The description and pic looked and read great. The reality is that if you are one without a full head of hair the hat will lay directly on top of your scalp, blocking ventilation and creating a lot of sweat. The miniscule sweat band works...somewhat. But the hat becomes hot and uncomfortable to wear plus the ventilation holes allow sunlight to reach your scalp. Not quite what I was hoping for.

This hat is the best, it's light, cool and comfortable in the heat and really keeps the sun off your face and neck. I like it so well I bought one for a friend and now she lives in it. If your tired of the tops of your ears and your neck burning and having those pre-cancer cells get this hat. You won't be sorry. And if you have long hair and want to have a pony tail hanging out this hat will accomidate you with or without the neck cape on.

Living in Texas, it's almost impossible to run & not get exposed to sun & heat. This hat is great protection from both. This is the best running hat I now own, period. The bill is long and the fabric hangs down onto my shoulders. I feel like I'm hiding under this thing! This hat itself is extremely wellventilated, as well as the snapon/ off fabric that hangs off the hat. It keeps my head & neck even cooler than running without anything on my head! The only problem is you will likely want to pin or sew some sort of fastener to the fabric under your chin to prevent flaps from blowing around & exposing your skin to sun.

I love this hat! It is light weight, the netting can be positioned to cover just the back of the neck or neck and sides of face. I use it for boating and chores. I'm quite happy with this purchase.

This was a gift for someone and they are happy with it like the breezy ventilated extra coverage. Also, the extra "cover" for neck and side of face is removable, so that is a good feature too.
