great hat. give me sun coverage that i wanted. just an fyi. the rims are not flat. its more shaped like a cow boy hat once you get it. for me it's fine.

This hat is huge, with a very large brim that offers great coverage from the sun. The strap is a little uncomfortable, but does function properly to keep the hat on in the wind. The fit of the hat is a little small and the top will hit the crown of your head. Overall, a great hat.

I bought the Lifeguard about 5 years ago, and I'm thrilled to be able to buy another. The huge brim keeps the sun off my over-sized nose, as well as my neck. We farm in the sunny southwestern US and the sun can be oppressive at times. This hat really does what it is supposed to do. For the price it is well made. Mine has survived multiple years (four or five; I can't quite remember) in the sweaty sun, and is just now finally rotting off my head. Since it is so big, it is a tad heavy, but the lighter hats just break quickly and are not worth wearing in the long run. I'm a believer.

Great hat for working in the sun. The brim is large enough to shade your face and neck while the straw allows for body heat to escape your head. I use it when I'm working in the garden on bright sunny days. It's a bit to floppy for me to wear out in public places.
