Overall, this is not a bad cap, but sadly I had to deduct some points for a few issues which will affect wear.
1) The hat fits a bit more snugly than I was expecting. I'm used to Wigens hats, but decided to try a different manufacturer. I did expect there to be a difference in fit, but not quite this much. I took a measurement and compared it to the sizing chart on the Christy's of London website. Turns out that the hat is a bit smaller than the manufacturer labels it on their site, so be prepared for a tighter fit (until you can wear it in a bit at least). Not enough to be uncomfortable, but more than enough to notice. I had to take off half a star for the issue (if the hat doesn't equal the sizing on the manufacturer's website, that's a problem to me).
2) Item was not as described. The leather, mesh lining? Nope. Christy's own website states that it's a Jacquard lining, but that's not accurate either. It was a simple lightweight polyester lining. Again, I had to double-check and make sure I had the right product, because it didn't fit any description I had seen thus far. Deduct one star.
3) Since the manufacturer cheaped out on the lining, it has a tendency to bleed. So, if you perspire, or are caught in the rain, the color of the lining will bleed into the linen of the hat. I don't mean a slight spotting, but I mean full out, turn the cap to red, and bleed over everything. FWIW: this was in a high humidity environment with light drizzle (hat was slightly damp). I've had hats for years and this is the first time I've had this happen with any hat from a reputable manufacturer. I'm hoping I got the lemon of the bunch, but I have to take off a star for that.
So 2 1/2 stars, rounding up to three. The shame of it is that this is a nice hat, the linen fabric is very nice, the stitching is good, etc. That said, if you aren't prepared for these issues (I definitely recommend treating the hat with a stain and water resistant spray), then you may come off regretting the purchase.

I want to blend in with the locals. It must be working because people ask me for directions all the time. I wore one of these a couple of weeks ago when I got off the Queen Mary 2 in Southampton England and spent a couple of days touring the area. My travel companion likes to wear shorts and a New York Yankees ball cap--looking like a total idiot entering churches and has been chewed out by the clergy officials more than once! Ironically I'm not even religious, yet prefer to show a little class and respect. With this hat, I just fold the bill under the back and tuck it into the inside pocket of my sports jacket. It's well constructed and looks great. The visor keeps the sun off my face and out of my eyes.
