I lost my favorite Smartwool cap I purchased circa 2010 in a Taxi. This looked like the current, closest version, of my old Smartwool hat.

However, this one is not as good as their previous model. The seams on this hat are quite noticeable. Perhaps, from faster/sloppier manufacturing? This has an "orientation" seam that places the SmartWool Logo around your right temple. The OLD version had NO FIXED SEAM and allowed for center/back/side placement of the logo.

On of the things I look for in Beanie style caps is a SLEEK, SKULL CONFORMING LOW PROFILE. The OLD version of this cap succeeded in being sleek. This version, not so much.

Overall, it IS a good cap, and will keep you warm. SmartWool material is always A+. (My OLD version was 3 years old and looked NEW)

This version is simply not as good as their ORIGINAL version circa 2010. :-(

Smartwool, if you are listening, pull out the the Original Design for this cap, or reduce the seams bulkiness.

Keeps enough heat in on cool days and freezing cold days to be perfect for heat regulation, and does not overheat you. My only gripe is that it was a tiny bit small and does not cover my ears perfectly.
