My husband wanted this hat for a 20's theme party. It fit true to size, was good looking and worth the price. Decent quality. Wish it came with the feather, but it didn't, so that's my only complaint, because it shows up in the picture.

I am very surprised that the comments on here are all about the images. I agree that a feather in a photo should mean a feather on the hat. That goes without saying. But a feather can be obtained at any craft store today, and it is better than having it come with colored feathers you dont really want or damaged feathers which would be WORSE! As for the weight of the felt, there are weights in wool hats just as there are in men's suits: Winter and Summer. An every day hat cannot be winter weight in the heat or your brain would bake! That being said, these are not Stetsons. Having a hat collection allows the recognition of a high-end brand. On the other hand, one is also not paying Stetson prices. As with everything, we get what we pay for. The heavy Stetson hats are made of fur not wool. And they are also available here on AMAZON, though they can be purchased elsewhere for less.

I needed a black Fedora quick for a gangster role in a murder mystery fundraiser, so I went--as always in these situations--to Amazon. Some of those listed were real garbage, but this one seemed to be acceptable by those who had purchased it. Appearance-wise, it looks to be a nice hat. It is a traditional Fedora design, with a black ribbon band. The rim acts as it should, so you can pop it all down, or the front, or the side, and it remains where you put it.

The reason it is not mistakable as a high-quality Fedora is the thickness of the felt: it is noticeably thin. That makes it light, but it also does not have the "presence" of, say, a Stetson. Their claim is that this makes it breathable as well.

One more thing I like about it is that the material it is at least partially made from is derived from bamboo. So, it is also GREEN!
