First time snowboarding and I read that I should get something preferably fleece and that covers the ears. I saw this beanie by Dakine and for the price, thought it was a steal. I used it and immediately, I started to get way too hot. This thing warms you up pretty darn fast. If you're in California like me, I would not recommend it for skiing/snowboarding after say...January? Because when the temperature is high and the sun is baking the ground, you are going to get overheated regardless of whether you just got fresh powder.

I think that the fleece lining inside is definitely a plus! But the outside wool is kind of a hassle for me. I do not like the crazy fibers that give it that "hairy look". I had some issues as the hair fibers would stick to the foam lining of my goggles (when resting them on my forehead) and bothered the area around my eyes. I'm not sure if washing it before riding will help, but it's definitely worth a try!

This hat is great. I love the color and the design. It's fleece lined on the inside, so it's extremely warm. It does fit very snuggly. I wear a size 7.5 hat, so if your head is much bigger...it may be too small for you. Other than that, I'm really pleased with it. It kept my head plenty warm on/off the slopes while skiing this Spring.

Warm with full lining as all quality warm weather head gear must have. No cone head problems as some older dakine hats had. Really nice nothing else to add. The blue is quite bright. My ears are warm and snuggly.
