This hat is exactly as advertised. The sizing is spot on, and the quality of work is outstanding. This is my new favorite hat. I was a bit hesitant about the "crushability" of this hat, but it's spot on. You can fold this hat up, and stuff it in the cargo pocket of your pants, and then pop it out and it snaps back into shape. I am very pleased with this hat.

The leather is lighter weight than my other leather hats, so I can see wearing this into the hotter months as well during fall and spring.

This is a quick phone video made of the hat minutes after it came out of the box. I was eager to pack it right back up and print out a return label. It was overcast so there is no harsh lighting or dark shadows and you can see this hat and its surface texture quite clearly.

I recently lost my ten year old Australian Kangaroo leather hat which I had purchased in a Sydney flea market. I wore it in rain and sunshine and it remained inside my Jeep all the time till it disappeared. I looked around for a replacement but a similar hat here is at least four times the price I paid for it in Australia, so I ended up buying this Barmah Foldaway. I was really looking forward to it bring delivered so I could put it on, but I am sorely disappointed at what I received. I am not sure how it got the two great reviews but I found it to be of extremely light-weight (read: Cheap), tacky-looking, shiny material that seems to hold on to cracks and creases. It might as well have been a cheap product sold on eBay from China for no more than $10.00. It arrived in a typical Amazon.com box barely an inch and half thick so it came out squished and permanently creased already. It is definitely going right back. It is already in the box and labeled. Bought this hat for my husband so he can pack it when we go on trips. The hat is good looking and I think it will give him many years of attractive wear. HOWEVER, it has been stuffed with paper for a month now, as we are trying to help it regain its original shape. The hat is supposed to be folded for packing (it comes with instructions and a carry bag), but the packaging it came in crushed it flat, dome flattened against the brim.

Generally happy with Amazon's packaging, but this was poor.

I purchased this hat a few months ago for a trip to a tropical region. I much prefer leather hats to those made of other materials. They simply look classy compared to others. This Barmah hat is wonderful. It truly does recover its shape after being crushed. I put it in my carry on luggage, folded and rolled as they recommended. Once a few minutes out, it recovered its shape nicely. This hat works well in protection from the elements--both water and sun, but it was not too hot even near the equator where I was traveling. I got drenched in a tropical rain, but the hat fared very well and kept my head dry. Once I got home, I cleaned it up a bit, applied some leather conditioner and it looks fabulous. Have gotten numerous compliments on the hat, too. The Mustang Leather (Hickory) looks really sharp with its medium color working well with lots of clothes. If this one ever wears out, I will gladly buy another. Absolutely satisfied with the purchase.
