Try black spray paint...have bought much cheaper hats which were much better quality. Very cheap and black spray paint flecks off straight out of the box.

I'll be honest. The fact that this hat has such a low rating is a good thing (for me at least). Here's why. When you stumble upon a great product that adds certain value to your look, you don't want to share it with others.

Case in point. I'm not really a country guy, but when I put this hat on and take it out to a bar or social gathering, women flip. Now ask yourself, why would I want other people to own such a hat? I don't.

BUT, I'm obliged to give my fellow Amazon patrons the truthful review it deserves because most reviews on here have saved me countless headaches.

I don't know cowboy hats or even what a "genuine" one should look or feel like. So maybe that's why certain people flip out on the quality. This, to me, is your casual night on the town hat. You bring this bad boy to a fun party, hoe-down, dive bar, festival, outing etc and have a blast. I even wear it sometimes while driving and ALWAYS get looks. A few days ago I got a number at starbucks from one of the baristas who loved my hat! lol Of course it doesn't hurt to be young, in shape and semi-attractive. A 5 o'clock shadow works well with this hat.

SIZE:

I have a big head and the elastic head band wraps PERFECTLY around my 24 inch dome. Feels like it was made for me. If you have a small head, this might not be the hat for you.

So, take from this what you will. The hat is awesome; makes me look awesome which makes me feel awesome. Girls love it and it has bumped up my game considerably lol So for those of you who don't like the hat or have some petty complaint about it, by all means send them to me. For everyone else looking for a great casual party hat this is it.

The negative ratings only help to boost the value of this hat for those of us that can pull it off. So go ahead and treat yourself to a good product.

I had been considering getting my husband a hat to wear outside for yard work for one of his Father's Day gifts. We live in southern NM and we spend quite a bit of time outside. He has always worn baseball caps but due to a recent episode of skin cancer on his nose, we wanted to get him something which would provide more sun protection in addition to the sun screen he uses. He had said that he would like a hat that was durable but light and provided air circulation. This hat seems to meet all of his specifications and he says that it is fun to wear. We are pleased.
