Nike had a clima-fit hat back several years ago with ear flaps that was my favorite running hat. It was polyester fleece microfiber and kept my ears toasty in the cold. They stopped making it. I was mad. I even wrote to Nike to no avail. Apparently not enough folks shared my love for this hat. Well Saucony has done it. They made a winter running cap with ear protection that is as good if not better than the Nike Therma-fit that is no longer made. Thanks Saucony! You're a life saver.Men's Saucony® Wascal Cap II

Great for winter court playjust wish the ear flaps were a bit tighter. Like the fact that it is adjustable.

I was concerned that it wouldn't be tight enough around the ears, but it seems to be pretty snug thanks to some elastic. So, it does fit a bit like a standard headband/ear warmer thingy, but it's a hat. My goal was to have my ears covered AND to keep the snow and sleet out of my eyes while running this winter. I think it will work as expected. I know it's not waterproof, but I think it should be fine for some light sleet or snow. If it were raining it probably wouldn't be cold enough to need it anyway. Thanks!

I ordered three different hats to try (hey, it's only money), and this was the best of the lot by far. It is reasonably soft, supple, and is easily adjustable to almost any size head. The ear coverings can be up or over your ears. That having been said, the only minor drawback is it is definitely not waterproof, but it would be all right for a light rain. The material will absorb water, but not overly quickly. The hat is quite comfortable, and, as I said, adjustable (there is an adjustment in the back that you can tighten or loosen as you wish. I guess maybe the back makes the hat not overly attractive in the back (there is an open spot, maybe a couple of inches long and wide), but hey, you want comfort and practicality or beauty?
